Omely Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 08, 2026
Contact: bilalidalila@outlook.com
Omely ("we," "us," or "our") is dedicated to protecting the privacy of podcasters, creators, and interviewers. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Omely mobile application (the "App").
Our Core Privacy Principle: Local-First & Creator-Owned.
Omely is a professional, local-first production workspace. Your recordings, teleprompter scripts, markers, and guest profiles are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your audio files or guest data to our servers.
By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
Because Omely is a local-first tool, the vast majority of your data never leaves your device.
1.1 Audio Recordings and Markers
When you use the Studio (Tab 1), the App accesses your device's microphone to record audio.
- Storage: All audio files (.m4a) and timestamp markers (🚩) are saved directly to your device's local sandbox.
- Usage: The recordings are used solely for your production and post-production needs.
- No Cloud Upload: We do not automatically upload your raw audio to our servers. If you use the "Export Episode Data" feature, you control the destination via the iOS native Share Sheet.
1.2 Teleprompter Scripts and Episode Data
When you create an Episode (Tab 2), you may enter titles, scripts, and notes. This data is stored locally on your device to power the Teleprompter.
1.3 Guest Roster (CRM Data)
In the Guest Roster (Tab 3), you may upload guest photos, names, titles, social media handles, and private notes (e.g., "taboo topics"). This information is stored locally. We do not sell, share, or access your private guest notes.
1.4 Camera and Photo Library
With your permission, Omely accesses your photo library or camera to allow you to upload cover art for your episodes or profile pictures for your guests. These images are processed locally and saved within the App's sandbox.
2. In-App Purchases and Omely Coins 🪙
Omely utilizes a token-based system (Omely Coins) to monetize the creation of new Episodes.
- Payment Processing: All purchases of Omely Coins (e.g., Starter Tape, Pro Broadcaster) are processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or payment information.
- Coin Balance: Your coin balance is managed via Apple's In-App Purchase receipt validation and is tied to your Apple ID.
3. Storage Management and Data Retention
- Local Storage: Because audio files are large, the App provides a Storage Manager (Tab 4) to monitor local disk usage. You have full control to clear local audio files using the "Clear Local Audio Files" button.
- Retention: We retain your data only on your device. If you delete the App or clear your cache, the data is permanently deleted from your device. We cannot recover locally deleted data.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or production data.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites.
- The only time data leaves your device is when you explicitly initiate an export (e.g., sharing an .m4a and .txt file with your editor via the iOS Share Sheet) or if you contact us for support.
5. Security
We rely on the security architecture of iOS to protect your local data. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device (e.g., using Face ID or a passcode). If you lose your device, your local Omely data may be compromised. We recommend regularly exporting and backing up your audio files to a secure location (like iCloud Drive or an external hard drive).
6. Children's Privacy
Omely is a professional production tool intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and providing a notice within the App.
8. Contact Us
